Medical and Wellbeing
Do I need a GP referral to book a blood test at the clinic?
No referral is needed. You can book phlebotomy and blood tests directly with Meyer Clinic. If your GP or consultant has requested specific tests, please bring the details and we’ll ensure the right samples are taken.
What types of blood tests do you offer?
We provide a wide range of tests, including routine health screens, hormone panels, thyroid testing, nutritional and vitamin analysis, DNA testing, and more. Specialist and bespoke panels are also available.
How quickly will I receive my blood test results?
Most routine blood test results are available within 24–48 hours. More complex tests, such as hormone panels or DNA analysis, may take several weeks. We’ll confirm turnaround times when you book.
Are your blood tests confidential?
Absolutely. All results are handled securely and discussed privately with you. If required, we can also share them directly with your GP or consultant.
What is InBody Body Analysis and why is it different from BMI or body fat scales?
InBody is a world-leading body composition analyser that measures your body’s fat, muscle, water, and visceral fat distribution in about 60 seconds. Unlike BMI or traditional scales, it gives a full, segmented breakdown of your body’s composition, not just weight or percentage estimates.
Can I get the InBody scan without booking other treatments?
Yes, the scan is available standalone. Many clients use it to get insights into their body composition before embarking on nutrition, fitness, or aesthetic programmes.

Do I need to be registered with the clinic?
No. You can book a private GP appointment at Meyer Clinic whenever you need it, and you do not need to de-register from your NHS GP.
Can the private GP prescribe medication?
Yes. Our GPs issue prescriptions during your appointment, and private prescriptions can be arranged through partner pharmacies.
Are appointments confidential?
Yes. We only share your records with other healthcare providers at your request.
How much does it cost?
A private GP consultation is £125. Any diagnostic tests will be charged separately.
Skin Surgery and Mole Checks
Do I need a GP referral for a mole check?
No. You can book directly with Meyer Clinic for reassurance or if you have noticed a new or changing mole.
Is mole removal painful?
It is generally well tolerated. A local anaesthetic is used, so you should only feel mild pressure or discomfort.
Will mole removal leave a scar?
Any procedure carries a small risk of scarring. Radio frequency surgery is designed to minimise scarring and give a smooth cosmetic result.
Can all moles be removed at the clinic?
We can remove most benign moles safely in clinic. If a mole appears suspicious, we arrange a referral to a dermatologist or specialist.

Is a private ultrasound scan safe?
Yes. Ultrasound scanning is a safe, non-invasive test that does not use radiation. It is widely used in both NHS and private healthcare settings.
How long does an ultrasound appointment take?
Most ultrasound appointments take between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the type of scan.
More detailed examinations, such as endometriosis-focused or combined abdominal and pelvic scans, may take longer to ensure thorough assessment and discussion.
Will I get my ultrasound results on the same day?
You will receive clear feedback during your appointment. A detailed written report is provided promptly.
If urgent findings are identified, these are clearly signposted so you can seek appropriate medical care without delay.
What symptoms should prompt me to book a private ultrasound scan?
You may consider booking a scan if you experience:
- Pelvic pain or painful periods
- Post-menopausal bleeding
- Abdominal pain or bloating
- Urinary symptoms (frequency, urgency, poor flow)
- Blood in the urine
- Testicular pain, swelling, or a lump
- Fertility concerns
- Abnormal liver blood tests
Ultrasound can help investigate symptoms or provide reassurance.
What is an endometriosis-focused ultrasound scan?
An endometriosis-focused ultrasound is a specialist pelvic scan designed to look for features associated with endometriosis, including ovarian endometriomas and deep infiltrating endometriosis.
The scan includes time to discuss symptoms and is performed carefully and respectfully. Meyer Clinic also offers the ZIWIG Endometriosis saliva test to complement scan findings and support clearer next steps.
Can a prostate ultrasound detect prostate problems?
A prostate ultrasound assesses the size and structure of the prostate and helps investigate symptoms such as poor urinary flow, urgency, frequency, or getting up at night.
To complement imaging, Meyer Clinic offers Prostate 1 and Prostate 2 (14-day) blood tests, including PSA testing, to support early detection and ongoing monitoring of prostate health.
Is private ultrasound scanning suitable during pregnancy or for children?
No. The ultrasound service at Meyer Clinic is for adults only and is not suitable for pregnancy scans or paediatric imaging.
If you are pregnant or require a scan for a child, you should seek appropriate specialist services.

Who administers anti-wrinkle treatment at Meyer Clinic?
All anti-wrinkle treatments at Meyer Clinic are carried out by our fully qualified doctors, ensuring you receive medically-led, expert care in a clinical setting rather than a beauty salon.
Can anti-wrinkle treatment be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Anti-wrinkle treatment can often be combined with other treatments such as dermal fillers or skin treatments for a more comprehensive result. During your consultation we will discuss your goals and advise on the best combination and timing to suit you.
What should I do, or avoid, before my appointment?
We recommend avoiding alcohol and blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen, unless prescribed, for 24 to 48 hours before treatment to reduce the risk of bruising. Arriving with a clean face and no makeup also helps, though this can be removed on arrival if needed.
Dermal Fillers
Is filler painful?
Mild discomfort is possible but we use a topical numbing cream and a fine needle or cannula. Most patients report only slight pressure or a stinging sensation.
Will it make me look fake or overfilled?
No, fillers at Meyer Clinic are designed to look natural, refined and in harmony with your features. Subtle enhancement is our priority.
Can filler be combined with other treatments?

It depends on your goals and facial structure. Most clients start with 1 to 2 ml per side, and every plan is tailored to the individual.
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)
Does PDT hurt?
Most patients feel some stinging, burning or prickling while the light is applied, usually most noticeable in the first few minutes. It is generally well tolerated, and we can use cooling methods during PDT treatment to keep you comfortable. Any discomfort usually settles soon after the session ends.
What is the recovery like?
For a few days after treatment, the area will usually be red and mildly swollen, a bit like sunburn, and may then flake or crust as it heals. Most people can go back to normal activities straight away. You will need to keep the treated area out of sunlight for 48 hours. Most skin heals within one to two weeks, and your clinician will give you full aftercare advice.
How many treatments will I need?
Many patients need only one or two sessions, depending on the condition being treated and how your skin responds. Your clinician will review the area at a follow-up appointment and advise whether any further treatment is needed.
Bespoke Doctor-Led Facials
Is microneedling painful?
It is generally well tolerated. We apply a topical numbing cream first, and clients describe a light prickling or scratching sensation.
How does NCTF differ from dermal fillers?
NCTF does not change facial shape or add volume. It works at a cellular level to revitalise and strengthen the skin for subtle, natural rejuvenation.
How often can I use the Tri Wave Dermalux?
The Tri Wave Dermalux can be used daily at Meyer Clinic, however should you not want to travel to the clinic we can also hire our Dermalux Flex light on a monthly basis or Dermalux LED Face Masks can be purchased for daily home use from the clinic.

Fat Freezing
Is everyone suitable for CoolSculpting Elite fat freezing treatment?
No. Pregnancy, severe cold sensitivity such as Raynaud's, and certain medical issues may rule treatment out. This is why you will have an in-person consultation before any treatment is undertaken.
Does CoolSculpting Elite hurt?
Most clients feel cold, tugging, tingling, stinging or cramping at first, which fades as the area becomes numb. The short massage afterwards may be uncomfortable but is short lived.
Is there any downtime?
Minimal to none. You can return to daily activities immediately.
Are the results permanent?
The fat cells destroyed are permanently eliminated. Remaining fat cells can still enlarge with weight gain, so healthy habits are important.
How many sessions will I need?
Many clients need more than one session, typically spaced six weeks apart. We give a full breakdown at your consultation.
Laser Hair Removal
Is laser hair removal painful?
Most clients experience minor, temporary sensations such as tingling or warmth. The cooling system makes the procedure virtually pain-free.
Can I have laser hair removal on sun-tanned skin?
No, you cannot have the procedure carried out whilst you have an active tan.
Is it suitable for all skin and hair types?
The technology we use suits almost any skin and hair combination. The consultation and patch test confirm it is safe and effective for you.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients achieve their desired results after three to six sessions, depending on hair thickness, the area treated and consistency.
How much does it cost?
Treatment starts from £58 per session depending on the area and the number of sessions. Full pricing is discussed at your consultation.
Cosmetic Surgery
Where will my procedure take place?
Many treatments are carried out under local anaesthetic at Meyer Clinic in Fishbourne. Procedures needing a general anaesthetic are coordinated with The Ghanem Clinic in London, and the setting is recommended based on clinical need, safety and complexity.
Can the packages be tailored?
Yes. Each package combines complementary treatments, and upper or lower blepharoplasty can be added where it is clinically indicated as part of a full facial rejuvenation strategy.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly, online or by phone, and the consultation covers your goals, medical history and a full treatment plan.
Oculoplastic Cosmetic Surgery
Am I a suitable candidate for upper eyelid surgery?
You may be if you have sagging, puffy or hooded upper eyelids that make your eyes look heavy or tired, or if eyelid skin affects your vision. Our surgeon reviews your medical history and eyelid structure at consultation and confirms whether surgery is the right option.
Are there any risks or side effects?
As with any surgery there are potential risks such as bruising, swelling, asymmetry or temporary dryness in the eyes. These are uncommon and typically mild, and your surgeon explains them in detail before you proceed.
Can upper eyelid surgery be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Many patients combine it with dermal fillers or skin tightening procedures. Your surgeon will recommend the best combination for your goals.
Ultherapy
Is Ultherapy the same as a facelift?
No. Ultherapy stimulates your own collagen to lift and tighten skin gradually, targeting the same tissue layer as a surgical facelift but without any incisions, anaesthetic or downtime. Results are more subtle and build over time.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
Some tightening is visible soon after treatment, with the fuller effect developing over 3 to 6 months as new collagen forms. Results commonly last a year or more.
Does Ultherapy hurt, and is there any downtime?
You may feel warmth or tingling during treatment, but this settles quickly. There’s no downtime — you can return to normal activities straight away.
