Book a consultationAn upper eyelid blepharoplasty removes or reshapes excess skin, fat and muscle from the upper eyelids. It restores a brighter, more open appearance and in some cases can improve vision if drooping eyelid skin is obstructing your line of sight.

In the vast majority of cases the procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic. A small incision is made along the natural crease of the upper eyelid and closed with fine sutures that heal discreetly within the fold, so there is no visible scarring.
Mild swelling and bruising is expected. Most patients return to light daily activities within a week and resume normal routines, including work and social events, after about two to three weeks. Aftercare includes prescribed eye drops, extra pillow elevation, pain relief and avoiding contact lenses whilst you heal.
Results are long-lasting. While ageing continues, most patients enjoy a more youthful eye contour for many years.

As with any surgery there are potential risks such as bruising, swelling, asymmetry or temporary dryness in the eyes. These are uncommon and typically mild, and your surgeon explains them in detail before you proceed.
