Early Detection of Changes to the Skin

Changes to the size, colour and shape of moles and blemishes on the skin can in some cases indicate early signs of skin cancer. It is therefore important to have a regular skin check up.

At Meyer Clinic, we are able to conduct a thorough examination of a patient’s skin to screen for all types of skin cancer such as squamous cell carcinomas, basal cell carcinomas or malignant melanomas. We carry out skin checks as a self-contained service or as part of a full Health Check.

If our GPs find any suspicious blemishes, they are able to refer patients to experts for further evaluation.

Our skilled practitioners are also able to surgically remove or treat a variety of superficial skin blemishes such as moles, skin tags and cysts, along with warts and verrucae.

Many of us suffer with minor skin blemishes that can affect our confidence. These issues are extremely common due to a combination of factors including ageing, UV Damage and certain health conditions.

At Meyer Clinic, our skin experts can use Advanced Electrolysis (ACP) to successfully remove, visibly reduce and improve the appearance of unwanted skin blemishes, offering immediate and effective results.

Advanced Electrolysis is a treatment that uses a Thermolysis current and a very fine needle to either cauterise or lift away the superficial epidermis, depending on the type of blemish that is being treated. It can be used in the removal of warts, skin tags, milia and small moles. It is also effective on reducing the appearance of facial veins and thread veins on legs.

For those looking to improve the look of scars or boost collagen to improve skin texture, even tone and promote plumpness and rejuvenation, microneedling can offer a minimally invasive solution.

At Meyer Clinic, the treatment is carried out by our qualified aesthetic professionals using very fine needles to apply tiny pinpricks to the skin, so small that they are invisible to the naked eye. The needling stimulates the skin to produce new collagen-rich tissue, improving the appearance and texture of your complexion.

Microneedling is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever it encounters injury. Dermapen® moves across the skin making pinpoint punctures which trigger new collagen production in the skin. The process also provides a clear channel for topical serums and active ingredients to be absorbed through the surface of the skin. These serums and correctives can have a restorative effect on skin conditions such as pigmentation and acne scarring, visibly fading the appearance of troublesome areas.

To restore skin to a more youthful state, our skin specialists offer elos™ Skin Rejuvenation Advanced (SRA).

This leading-edge treatment uses combined energies to offer high-tech skin advancement and can effectively reduce the appearance of pigmentation such as freckles, sunspots, liver spots, melasma, and hyperpigmentation, as well as smoothing fine to moderate wrinkles and textural irregularities of the skin.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

This advanced treatment combines Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and electrical energies to precisely target the pigmentation by reaching deep into the dermis to isolate and treat a specific pigmented area without harming the surrounding skin. This non-invasive treatment delivers fantastic results, with skin restored to a more youthful state. It can be used on the face, neck, hands and body.
